Treatment

Prior to treatment, a comprehensive consultation will be conducted, encompassing medical history, pictures, and treatment permission. Expectations and desires will also be covered. The regions that need to be treated will have a numbing cream applied for around half an hour. After that, the skin will be properly cleaned and this will be removed. To smooth and shape the filler, it will be injected beneath the skin and massaged.

Dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring component in the human body, to restore lost volume and smooth away creases and wrinkles. Dermal fillers are a great treatment choice if you feel that your face has lost some of its young definition or if you have deep wrinkles around your nose or lips.

Contraindication: 

• Allergy/hypersensitivity to the filler.
• Glabellar necrosis.
• Allergy to lidocaine (collagen, hyaluronic acids, Artefill).

Nasolabial Folds:

Nasolabial folds are creases in your skin extending from both sides of your nose to the corners of your mouth. They’re also called smile lines or laugh lines. The creases can become prominent and permanent as you age, especially if you smoke or don’t protect your skin from the sun. Certain treatments can reduce their appearance.

Marionette lines

Marionette lines, also called melomental folds, are creases that extend from the corners of your mouth to your chin. The name comes from marionette string puppets, which have pronounced vertical lines in the same place.

What causes nasolabial folds?
The leading causes of nasolabial folds are:
 

• Aging: As you age, your cheekbones can flatten, and gravity can pull down loose skin in the area. You also have less collagen and elastin in your skin. These natural substances give skin its elasticity, resilience, stretchiness and ability to hold its original shape.
• Smoking: Smoking destroys collagen and elastin in your skin.
• Sun damage: The sun’s rays also break down collagen and elastin.
• Weight loss or gain: If you lose a lot of weight, you may have extra, looser skin. If you gain weight, you may have bigger cheeks. Both situations can accentuate nasolabial folds.

What causes marionette lines?
Marionette lines may develop due to:

• Aging and naturally losing collagen and elastin in your skin.
• Having parents or grandparents with marionette lines.
• Not wearing sunscreen on your face.
• Pursing your lips frequently.
• Severe stress.
• Smoking.
• Sun exposure, which can lead to sun damage

Aftercare:

• Treatment area may appear red and tender
• The area may still feel numb
• Expect to see bruising up to 1-2 weeks after treatment
• Avoid make–up for 12 hours after treatment
• Avoid touching the skin after treatment
• Avoid any heat treatments for 48 hours after a peel ie: Hot baths, sauna, sun beds or direct sunlight
